Scracs are creatures believed to be related to dragons. They are reptilian in appearance, and stand on two feet, which results in them looking much like large, scaly, velociraptors. Like dragons they have wings on their backs, but unlike many dragons scracs' wings are brightly feathered. They are omnivores and they have very long life spans. Scracs are shape shifters and have been around about as long as dragons have been. They are highly intelligent and very mischievous, often choosing to get their meat by tricking other creatures into attacking and killing each other. Favorite targets of their antagonistic ways are dragons and humans. Many scracs have amused themselves by taking on a dragon's form, wreaking havoc upon humans, and watching from a safe distance as humans then hunt for dragons.

Modern scracs blend in with humans by taking on human shapes. Many of them have careers in which they can pursue their overall goal of the downfall of humans, dragons, and other sentient creatures they feel might threaten them.
