AIR ELEMENTAL RITUALS
Winds of Change

Fill three glass balls with mint, lemon grass, lavender flowers, acacia resin, and marjoram while asking the powers of air to blow the winds of change through your life. Hang in the trees of your garden where the winds can blow them.

Message on the Wind

Take a feather, hold it in your hand and think hard about the message you wish to send, visualising the person you wish to send it to. Tie this onto a tree so that the wind can blow it, saying:
Spirits of the air,
Spirits of the air,
Carry this message for me
Blown on the wind
Carried on your breath
Carry this message for me
Spirits of air
And I will pour you a libation of sweet, white milk.

North Wind Spell
When the wind is blowing from the north, you can use its power to dispel negativity or illness. Go to a hill, write the problem on a piece of paper, tear it into tiny pieces and let the wind blow them away.

East Wind Spell

Seed corn
Egg
3 Feathers
On a windy hill at sunrise say:
Spirits of the East Wind
Accept this offering from me
Seed for new beginnings
Egg for potential
Feathers for your powers
Help me make a new beginning
And change my life and luck for the better
Bury the corn and egg, and allow the wind to take the feathers.

South Wind Spell

The south wind is a hot, fiery wind, concerned with power, energy, and excitement. When the south wind blows, go to a windy place and light a candle in a lantern or glass jar and say:
Spirit of the south wind,
That brings the fiery heat
Bring passion and excitement into my life
And fill me with your energy.

West Wind Spell
When the west wind blows, go to a windy place near a body of water, and take some crystal water or morning dew [see above] and sprinkle it into the west wind saying:
Spirit of the west wind
That brings the gentle rain
Purify me and cleanse me of all negativity
Bring love and friendship into my life
And bless me with your gentle warmth

To Bind the Wind

The old witches would tie the winds up with a length of rope, pulling the knots tight to tie up the wind, and releasing them when the wind is required. Undoing the first know would give a light breeze, the second a strong wind, and the third a gale.

To Still the Wind
Take four feathers, tie them up together and bury them beneath a bowl of salt.

Bull Roarer

To call the spirits of air, take a piece of wood and tie it onto a leather thong. Whirl this around your head until it makes a high pitched sound. This is called a bull roarer. You may have to experiment a little with the shape of the wood.
